Bishop's Bio

Carl L. Easley, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, was born to the late Deacon Carl L. Easley, Sr., & the Late Mrs. Lillian H. Easley. He answered the call at the age of 21 to preach God's Word and to pastor God's people. He received a Bachelor of Science from Morgan State University, a Masters of Divinity from the School of Theology, Virginia Union University and a Doctorate of Ministry from United Theological Seminary. Carl L. Easley married the beautiful Crystal L. Easley on August 13, 1988. She is the apple of his eye and his partner in ministry. Carl L. Easley answered God's call to organize Open Door Christian Fellowship Church in September of 2000. Carl L. Easley is committed to taking God's Word to a lost and hurting world as he is about changing lives and opening doors through the Word of God! Open Door is a growing and exciting church that is committed to making and developing disciples through worshipping in God's Presence, walking in God's Power, working in God's Plan and witnessing to lost and hurting people. Carl Easley was consecrated as a Bishop in September of 2002 and confirmed by Bishop Larry D. Trotter in February of 2005 and recognized by Bishop I. V. Hilliard in October of 2005. The Easleys are the proud parents of four beautiful children, Brandon, Rhema, Bethany and Isaiah and one granddaughter, Mya Nicole. Bishop & First Lady Easley are a part of the Association of Independent Ministries (AIM) family under the leadership of their spiritual parents, Bishop I. V. Hilliard & Dr. Bridget Hilliard of Houston, Texas. Carl's father passed away in 1992, but God had already placed in his life, Pastor David Forbes, Sr., of Raleigh, NC, who has been like a father and a pastor to him. Also, Drs. David & Tracy Forbes of Columbus, Ohio are their personal ministry coaches and friends.

Minister Crystal's Bio

Crystal L. Easley was born to Deacon William and Deaconness Evelyn Lacy as the youngest of three girls on May 29, 1964. On August 13, 1988, Crystal married Carl L. Easley; they were the best of friends who met in the 9th grade. Crystal is an excellent teacher of God's Word and also an anointed psalmist and song writer. Together Pastor and First Lady Crystal have committed to taking God's Word to a lost and hurting world. Crystal is the leader and founder of the "Women of the Word" (WOW), which is the women's ministry of Open Door. This ministry is designed to develop women, body, soul and spirit. The Easley's are the proud parents of four lovely children, Brandon, Rhema, Bethany and Isaiah and one granddaughter, Mya Nicole.
